Katakasu Suite

A new whole house in the middle of Hakata.

The ground floor is one continuous living-dining room, with a dark green L-shaped sofa facing a solid-wood table. Overhead, a brass sputnik-style ceiling light and a rail of bare bulbs light different parts of the room, so the sitting side and the eating side stay separate within the same space.

The two rooms upstairs differ in character by the colour of their walls. One has an olive-green wall at the far end and beds lined up along the window, for nights when there are more of you. The other has bracket lights and a built-in desk against a blue-grey wall, and is the quieter of the two.

The flooring is wide oak-look board, the same material running through both floors. It stands in a residential area a little off the centre, so nights are quiet.
