The Space
About the space
A large single room where the wall changes character at each place to sleep.
Around the living area, windows on two sides let the light in. A spherical pendant light hangs from the bare concrete ceiling, lighting the grey sofa and the wooden floor.
In the sleeping zone at the back, each bed has a different backdrop. One against a lattice-patterned wall like woven rope, one against a plain wall. Within a single room, different night scenes stand side by side.
Rather than separate rooms, the layout puts a single wall between the sleeping places. At night, each to the bed they choose; in the morning, back to the table by the window. Everyone stays within sense of each other, which suits travelling as a group.
