The Space

About the space

A maisonette in Befu, with a floor for the night and a floor for the morning.

The fifth floor has a black ceiling and mortar-finish walls. Above the large table, filament bulbs burn low. The theatre room is hung with red curtains, as dark as a cinema.

Up the stairs everything turns over: a bright bedroom floor based on white. One room is Japanese-style, with light filtered through shoji, a wooden ceiling and round cushions set on the tatami. A small room for shutting away and resting.

Downstairs the evening runs late, and whoever grows sleepy takes the stairs up. A house where the time to gather and the time to rest can be kept on separate floors.

Where you can go

What is let is the fifth and sixth floors of the building, connected by an internal staircase. Only the private areas on the fifth and sixth floors are available for use. The fifth floor is reached through the auto-locking entrance and by elevator.

The fifth floor is reached through the auto-locking entrance and by elevator. From the auto-locking entrance on the ground floor to the elevator there are around 15 steps.
We do not offer additional cleaning or linen changes during your stay. Please use the washing machine in the home as needed.
Luggage can be left with us from 12:00 on the day of check-in. After booking, please read the check-in guide and leave your bags together in one place, unopened.
Seasonings such as oil, salt and pepper are not kept on site, with safety in mind. Please buy them at a nearby supermarket.
