The Space

About the space

A house in Gofukumachi, tailored in black.

The living room has white walls and a dark brown floor. A wooden dining table and a fabric-covered sofa stand side by side, and in the kitchen even the refrigerator is black. The black window frames draw the outline of the room tight.

Two bedrooms upstairs. In the main bedroom the walls are kept a deep gray, and the white beds rise out of them by contrast. The twin room has white walls with three narrow windows in a row, and reads differently even on the same floor.

Back from a day of walking, pass under the noren with the house name on it and into the house. A steamer and a foot massager are here, so you can loosen feet that have walked all day before you sleep.

How to find the building

About a minute's walk away is Blanc Gofuku, also in Gofukumachi. This house is marked by its dark-toned exterior and the noren carrying the house name.
